CLIENT : Norby - New York
V/S Studio - New York
NORBY is an audience relationship management tool built for creators and emerging brands. This next-generation marketing platform bundles together all the tools community builders need, like SMS campaigns, newsletters, event management, link in bio, signup forms, landing pages, link and referral tracking, and more.
I worked in collaboration with Saloni Soni of V/S Studio -New York, to develop fun illustrations for merchandise for the NORBY PR box and online SHOP which included a sticker pack, bandana, sweatshirt, waist pouch, postcards and a hat.
The illustrations created for the sticker pack were also used across collaterals, becoming an extension of the Norby brand.
The next phase of this project is focussed on building on this visual language, developing custom emojis and illustrations for application across their social media assets, videos, graphic overlays and marketing features in the NORBY app.

Character Design / Illustration / Animation / Songwriting
I’ve wanted to create my own characters, write songs and tell stories through them for the longest time but none of the characters I conceived in the past ever got me as excited as Miss Prickle. She’s a feisty little cactus navigating life in the wilderness.
Here’s a snippet of her debut single “When life gives you a puddle go and make some waves”

This film is part of a collaborative series by the Singapore Tourism Board, The Humming Bird - Singapore & NSFTV (Not Safe For TV) - An online magazine for experimental video content.

This particular film is about Xian, a Singaporean professional fighting games champion. It gives us an insight into his journey and life before he became a Pro Gamer.
I was part of a team of four animators working on this film. Each of us were given a 30 second slot ; the final film is a mash-up of four illustration and animation styles.

As we stay home, distance ourselves from one another and do the best we can with the information we have while grappling with the Covid 19 pandemic, our efforts paint a picture of a COLLECTIVE HOPE.
In times like these when there’s so many unanswered questions I turn to the Bible to dig deeper and my inspiration for this piece comes from Zechariah 9:12 – “Return to your fortress of peace, you Prisoners of Hope.”
When we CONSISTENTLY choose HOPE in the face of despair and choose to be rooted in and bolstered by that HOPE, we become PRISONERS OF HOPE.
Today I am a “PRISONER OF HOPE” both literally and figuratively as there is no better vantage point from which to uplift & strengthen one another and fight this battle.

Client: Homegrown India
This two-part poster series was commissioned for Homegrown’s Back to School Event.
I created six characters, all with the same face, but each with their own personal style. Each representing one of the many personalities you would find in a classroom.
I purposely gave them all the same face to allude to the fact that even though children have their own unique personalities they/we were all expected to conform and comply without question and were all eventually offspring of the cookie-cutter breed.
Event 1: HG Academy
HG Academy was the first event. It was to be a panel discussion covering all the topics that were considered TABOO when we were in school.
For this poster, I thought it would be fun to show the characters in formation as a marching band, ushering in a new progressive age of unfiltered conversation.
I turned this into an animated poster for their social media handles.
Event 2: Back to School Dance Party
Characters dancing on their desks, each with props that bring out their individual personalities.

Client: Rheson, Shopper’s Stop. Fashion Label by Sonam & Rhea Kapoor
The theme for this Indo Western collection was Indian Kings & Queens. The idea was to depict the characters in a traditional illustrative style while showing each of them engaged in modern day activities, using gadgets and objects of our present time.
The Queen: Instead of being back at her palace, she is sitting at a diner with a cheese burger, fries and coke; scrolling through Instagram and liking posts. Her puppy on a leash as an added accessory following the likes of Paris Hilton.
The King: Instead of fulfilling his duties as Ruler of the Kingdom and ordering everyone around, he is in the kitchen, making pizza.
Princess I: Working out at the gym, instead of sitting around being tended to by ladies in waiting.
Prince: Riding a bike across town with his guitar, as opposed to riding out on horseback.
Princess II: Playing computer games in her study, instead of being in her vanity room.
I used the 5 characters and scenes to make both allover prints as well as placement prints for the garments in this collection.

Client: Taxi Fabric, Mumbai + See Now Organisation
Taxi Fabric is a platform that gives artists and designers a new canvas to express themselves in a way that not only transforms Mumbai’s taxis into moving art, but also enhances the travel experience for taxi drivers and thousands of locals.
Taxi Fabric was approached by Purpose - See Now, an organization that works to spread awareness around avoidable blindness and make access to quality eyecare a universal reality.
The aim was do a collaborative Taxi to help spread the message that 4 out of 5 individuals who are blind can be cured entirely by corrective surgery.
When the Taxi Fabric Team reached out and explained the brief, I was just as shocked as everyone else, with the knowledge that people could be cured and weren’t aware of it.
I thought it would be great if I could come up with an approach that included the visually impaired so that we could learn from the process and have a better understanding of their experience while attempting to create awareness through this collaboration.
I conducted a workshop with about 10-12 visually impaired children. We gave them drawing stationery, art supplies and a word each. Each of them had to paint that word on paper. Considering their visual impairment, most of their representations of those words were essentially abstract looking paint splotches.
The next step in this process was to take over from the children. I took those abstract painted splotches and drew over the kids’ representations of the words, to create more recognisable and realistic forms of those words.
In doing this exercise my aim was to show the impairment before surgery through their painted splotches, and the drawings that I did over their splotches were symbolic of the improvement in vision that corrective surgery can bring about.
To visually represent the message that every 4 out of 5 visually impaired children could have their sight restored, I placed one paint splotch alongside 4 more of the same splotches with 4 variations of line drawings of each corresponding word.
This collaborative effort sparked a great deal of conversation around avoidable blindness and got a huge response online, with almost 3 million views on the video itself.
This project was a life changing experience and I’m grateful for having been given the opportunity to be part of this process.

NIKE x Homegrown - Air Max Day
It was a privilege to be part of the lineup of talented artists invited to showcase their work at the Nike Air Max Day celebration hosted by HOMEGROWN, in collaboration with NIKE SPORTSWEAR.
I’ve likened the journey of the Nike Air Max shoe to that of the winged creature - part woman, part phoenix, who rises out of the ashes of her predecessor, only to realise she is a new, improved version of her former self.
So also the journey of the Nike Air Max shoe is and has been one of constant innovation, transformation and growth. Their truths entwine as both boast of an inherent power that propels them to greater heights.

This project began with a painting I made for a friend. I'm not a poker player and never will be, but the designer in me fell so in love with the heart, diamond, club and spade forms that I was compelled to extend this project into type design with the intent of ultimately creating a deck of 52 playing cards.

A friend of mine wrote a tiny story and asked if I'd illustrate it. I was tired of painting on paper and found a wooden tea box and decided I would paint that instead; using each plance of the box to illustrate the different elements in the story and it so happened that the story was also about TEA and deeper things…
The Story :
He stared at the pot. A failing marriage.
Maybe coffee could help, like before.
So he brewed with hope.
“Tea…” She said, from the shower.
